Meet Emily DePauw

I am so glad you're here. I am the founder of Unleashed Movement, Alignment and Performance Coach, and Choreographer.

I work with kind, willing, high-achieving movers looking to enhance and sharpen their physical performance, prevent injury, and remove limitations.

For two decades, I have worked as a choreographer and dance coach. I also served as a certified personal trainer before entering the Physical Therapy space for a few years, then was introduced to Corrective Exercise Therapy in 2012. This changed everything. I got certified as a Postural Alignment Specialist with the Egoscue Method, where I directed a clinic for 9 years, and helped thousands of people overcome chronic pain through holistic exercise therapy.

In 2021, I started Unleashed Movement, where I have been able to integrate my knowledge of posture therapy, corrective exercise, personal training, and dance, and create the most effective well-rounded experience to serve my clients and community.

I grew up dancing, playing basketball, singing, and playing the piano. While I did all of these at a competitive level well into young adulthood, dance prevailed as the constant love of my life. I see all movement as art, and I am most fulfilled helping people fully express themselves with their sole instrument: their bodies.

My coaching programs and digital products are a perfect blend of realignment and physical training, designed to help you connect to your body on a deeper level and access a higher level of performance, energy, and joy. Our body is an intelligent, intuitive instrument. The more we listen and honor it, the better we feel.

Is Not Just Physical

This is a holistic process that encompasses not only biomechanics but also the mental and emotional aspects of how you carry yourself and approach your craft. 

This work offers an opportunity for profound growth. The more you're willing to dive in and commit to a daily practice, the more substantial your personal development will be. I speak from experience!

When it comes to your abilities and well-being, self-trust is key. Do you fully trust your body right now? Or are there warning flags that you push through and accept? 

For example, if you regularly run 30 miles per week but struggle with nagging knee pain on your right side, or you are a highly skilled dancer and notice a discrepancy in your strength between one side and the other, you are enforcing an imbalance that you have probably come to simply “accept.”

The same applies to any activity: golf, mountain biking, skiing, surfing, cross fit, soccer, ice skating, tennis, rock climbing, etc etc….I am happy to report the activity is not the issue. The body you take INTO the activity is what needs attention!

You are capable of changing position, condition and function of your body. You’d be surprised how quickly your body can improve when you start to bring it back into balance.

You can choose to level up and achieve your own personal greatness. Unleashed Movement was created to help you get there.
